The XR650 has consistently won the Baja Rally in California for all its production years that it entered the race. That says a lot right there, because the competition is fierce. There are mods you can do to go faster, lighter and brighter, but the stock bike is still competitive if you have a skilled rider on top. Here are a few sites worth looking at:
